As a demonstration of its strong commitment to excellence in the processes and methodologies applied to its projects and services, the Sofis Solutions Software Factory has achieved the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) rating at Maturity Level 3 for Development.
About the CMMI Model
The Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements to develop effective processes and ultimately optimize their performance. CMMI defines five Maturity Levels for organizations, based on the presence or absence of specific characteristics. Organizations can be assessed and, based on this assessment, assigned a maturity level rated on a scale from 1 to 5. Thus, through CMMI, it is possible to determine the maturity level of an organization’s processes according to a model of best practices.

Among the different categories of the model, Sofis Solutions focused on CMMI for Development (CMMI-DEV), which offers a comprehensive set of guidelines for creating products and services that meet the needs of customers and end-users. It also covers practices spanning the entire product lifecycle, from conception to delivery and maintenance. Achieving Maturity Level 3 of the CMMI model demonstrates that the company implements solid software engineering and project management practices, ensuring that its processes are defined, managed, and optimized to deliver reliable, efficient solutions aligned with industry best practices.
“This milestone represents the consolidation of 20 years of commitment to quality, one of the fundamental pillars of our services. The CMMI assessment was a highly collaborative process, involving the entire software factory and cross-functional areas. Beyond the recognition, it was an enriching experience that strengthened our processes, standards, and indicators, aligning them even more closely with the company's strategic objectives,” said Gustavo Cirigliano, Director of Sofis Solutions.
A milestone achieved as a team
The evaluation of this model focuses on identifying improvement opportunities and comparing the organization's processes with CMMI best practices. The journey to this milestone required a collaborative effort from the company’s team, who documented and standardized key processes for software development and project management. For this, Sofis Solutions conducted a thorough analysis of existing practices, followed by the implementation of improvements aligned with international standards. This process included training sessions, internal audits, and an external evaluation that validated the quality and maturity of its processes, ensuring a systematic focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
