Sofis Solutions presented its experience on how it won the 2023 National Quality Award

Montevideo, September 20, 2024.

Sofis Solutions was one of the organizations that shared its experience as the winner of the “2023 National Quality Award” at the 17th edition of Quality Week.

On September 18 and 19, the National Quality Institute of Uruguay (INACAL) held its 17th edition of Quality Week, an event that brings together experts who share and enhance best practices in quality and continuous improvement. This year’s theme focused on: “Quality Infrastructure: Key to Technological Development.”

At this event, INACAL invited some of the organizations awarded the 2023 National Quality Award to share their experiences on the journey they took to achieve this prestigious recognition.

Sofis Solutions was one of the invited organizations, which in 2023 received the National Quality Award in the category “Private Service, Medium and Small Organizations” for excelling in areas of the Continuous Improvement Model: Top Management Leadership, Planning, People Development, Customer Focus, Information and Analysis, and ensuring societal and environmental impact as well as delivering quality products and services.

To obtain the Award, the company underwent an extensive evaluation process lasting approximately one year. The evaluation process included the following stages:

  • Application stage
  • Orientation stage regarding guidelines for personnel
  • Objection stage by the Award Council
  • Submission of Detailed Reports/Self-assessments and explanatory annexes
  • Evaluation visit by the assessors
  • Resolution stage by the Award Council
  • Feedback stage

During the event, Laura Viré, Coordinator of Integrated Sustainable Management Systems at Sofis Solutions, presented how the company has been working on its commitment to quality through tools that contribute to planning, assurance, and quality control. She also shared the company’s experience and the process it went through to be recognized with the “2023 National Quality Award.”

Viré elaborated on the journey toward Total Quality that the company has undertaken and the actions implemented throughout its management. This includes the implementation of its Quality Management System according to ISO 9001:2015, which is continually maintained and improved. She also highlighted the innovative incorporation of the #GreenSofis methodology, focusing on enhancing software development processes with attention to environmental, social, and governance aspects.

Additionally, she shared the key pillars considered for obtaining the “2023 National Quality Award”, which underpin the company’s current quality levels, including:

  • Integrated Sustainable Management Systems
  • Sustainability focus on the products provided
  • Innovation in solutions
  • Data Driven (Integrated Service Management Platform of Sofis Solutions, enabling control, monitoring, follow-ups, and real-time indicators of projects and company management).

“Sharing Sofis Solutions’ quality practices and initiatives with all those interested in these topics was very enriching and rewarding. It is also valuable to learn from the practices and approaches of other organizations that have won INACAL’s National Quality Award,” expressed Laura Viré.

For the company, it is of utmost importance to operate under a Continuous Improvement Model oriented toward Total Quality to ensure the quality of its products and services delivered to clients.
