More people, better decisions: data-driven sustainability

Montevideo, July 11, 2025.

On the occasion of World Population Day, Sofis Solutions highlights the key role of technology in turning demographic challenges into opportunities for sustainable development.

Migration, accelerated urbanization, health, and education are some of the challenges currently redefining social and territorial dynamics. In this context, data intelligence becomes a key tool to better understand population needs and anticipate them with more effective public policies.

Sofis Solutions promotes technological solutions that enable governments and organizations to make more informed, equitable, and timely decisions. Through platforms developed to collect, analyze, and visualize territorial and population data, the company has contributed to strengthening state capacity, supporting the design and implementation of evidence-based public policies.

Thanks to this technological support, it is possible to identify gaps in access to essential services, plan resource distribution more efficiently, generate key indicators, and monitor the impact of social interventions. Below are some of the projects developed in this field.

  • Refugee Information System (SIRE): this technological solution was developed to strengthen the protection of individuals applying for refugee status in Mexico, ensuring an approach based on equality and non-discrimination. This tool puts people at the center, promotes inclusive and sustainable development, and facilitates the collection of personal data, the systematization of COMAR’s administrative processes, the issuance of official notifications, agile case tracking, and the generation of more dynamic and reliable statistics.
  • Systems for the 2023 Census in Uruguay: the technological solutions developed for the 2023 Census and the Experimental Census helped optimize census logistics, improve coverage, and ensure the security of collected data. In addition to addressing technical challenges, key aspects such as household uniqueness, correlation with pre-census data, form comprehension, usability, accessibility, and personal data protection were tackled, resulting in more efficient, secure, and inclusive processes.
  • Information System for Educational Management in El Salvador (SIGES): this integrated system centralizes information on students, teachers, and educational centers, providing a comprehensive view to strengthen decision-making in the national education sector. The project included the technological development of the platform, the digitization of historical records, the formulation of the regulatory framework for its implementation, organizational change management, and the design of strategies for its sustainability. This solution promotes more efficient, transparent, and results-oriented educational management.

Through these solutions, Sofis Solutions transforms complex data into strategic information, driving more efficient, timely, and locally adapted responses. In doing so, the company reaffirms its commitment to continue developing innovative tools that promote more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable territories for the future.

World Population Day invites us to recognize that behind every figure there are lives and realities that demand innovative and effective responses.
