Young people from the “Youth Sponsorship” Program of Aldeas Infantiles Uruguay received training on the use of office tools for their workforce integration.
Sofis Solutions reaffirms its support for Uruguayan youth by strengthening the development of skills and competencies for young people in the “Youth Sponsorship” Program of Aldeas Infantiles Uruguay through training workshops that will serve as a foundation for their transition into adulthood and integration into the workforce.
As part of the alliance signed in 2023 between Aldeas Infantiles Uruguay and Sofis Solutions to support the Youth Sponsorship Program, the company developed a series of workshops on the basic use of software such as word processors, presentation design, and spreadsheets, which serve as essential tools to organize, manage, and present data and information in various professional areas.
The cycle of office tools training sessions took place on August 27, September 3, and 10, with 15 Uruguayan youth participating in these virtual spaces, acquiring new knowledge to support their first work experience. In the first session, the young participants learned how to use LibreOffice - Word, a word processor for creating and editing documents. Additionally, a practical example on how to build a curriculum vitae was shared, along with helpful resources for its preparation.
In the second session, participants learned how to use LibreOffice - Excel to analyze and manage data effectively. The young people learned how to create a spreadsheet to track expenses and understand monthly income and expenditure flows.
In the final session, the youth learned to use the tool for creating visual and engaging presentations, LibreOffice - PowerPoint. This session included an introduction to multimedia elements in the software, useful for effectively conveying and illustrating a message.
“Through digital skills training, Sofis impacted the educational process of 15 young people residing in Montevideo, Canelones, and Florida. These workshops, focused on using Office tools, have contributed to our Youth Sponsorship Program, which has benefited over 110 young people in Uruguay to date.”
In addition to providing practical knowledge, the active participation of the company’s staff demonstrated a strong commitment to youth development, motivating them to believe in their potential, fostering a proactive attitude toward their future, and inspiring them to consider career options they had not previously considered and pursue more ambitious goals by observing examples of professional success.
