Sofis Solutions has completed the audits of its Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.

Montevideo, October 21, 2024.

The audits aim to identify non-compliances, potential deviations, or improvement opportunities. Sofis Solutions will continue working on the continuous improvement of its Integrated Systems.

On October 9, Sofis Solutions completed its cycle of internal and external audits for its Quality Management System and Environmental Management System, in accordance with the compliance requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards. This process took place on October 2 (internal audit) and October 7, 8, and 9 (external audit), the latter led by auditors from the Uruguayan Institute of Technical Standards (UNIT).

A key factor for Sofis Solutions is the continuous improvement in the quality of its services, which provides a differential value in the IT market. Maintaining and renewing these Management Systems constitutes a control with guaranteed quality and sustainability, thus ensuring compliance with required standards and demonstrating its commitment to offering products of the highest quality.

To promote sustainable environmental management, the company has carried out various actions aligned with its Environmental Management System, including:

  • The incorporation and execution of the #GreenSofis initiative: #GreenSofis is a methodology composed of principles, activities, tools, and sustainable practices that encompass ESG criteria (environmental, social, and governance factors) in the software development lifecycle. #GreenSofis adds the sustainability dimension considering the following elements: green technologies, algorithms that consider resource efficiency, Green Web hosting, principles of sustainable software engineering, language used in user interfaces, aspects of digital inclusion, and development that facilitates auditing and transparency.
  • Development of Sustainable Digital Transformation Conferences: annually, the company organizes these events where collaborators, senior management, and guests share responsible IT practices and reflect on the challenges faced daily in a world of constant technological change.
  • Reduction of the carbon footprint of its website: according to the Green Web Foundation, the Sofis Solutions website is hosted green, due to responsible use of resources. Additionally, according to the Website Carbon Calculator, the site produces 0.12 grams of CO2 (rated "A"), considered efficient due to the use of compressed images in its design and content. According to Ecograder, it scores 92 out of 100 points (an "A" grade) for content optimization, green web hosting, web accessibility, page size reduction, among others.
  • Internal Environmental Commitment Site: this year, the company launched an internal website hosting information about the Environmental Management System (EMS), environmental policy, related news, multimedia materials, courses, and more.
  • Waste classification and recycling at the Sofis Uruguay office: the company performs classification and recycling of paper, cardboard, plastic, and electronic waste.

Regarding actions at the Quality Management System level, some of the initiatives include:

  • Automation of processes to obtain indicators and continuous improvement in process performance monitoring through Sofis Solutions' Integrated Service Management Platform, which allows control, monitoring, tracking, and real-time indicators of projects and company management.
  • Comparison with other already established Continuous Improvement Models to evaluate the work being done by the company within its Management Systems.
  • Enhancing the customer experience through the implementation of new data collection and analysis strategies.

The audits focused on the renewal of ISO 9001 for the Quality Management System, assessing whether the company continues to maintain the quality standards established by the standard. They also covered the maintenance of ISO 14001 for the Environmental Management System, verifying that processes are carried out systematically.

This process was participatory at the organizational level, where senior management and employees from various offices were interviewed to ensure transparency and evidence of the activities carried out by the company in its sustainable management processes.

These Management Systems provide a differential value to organizations. The Environmental Management System contributes to optimizing the use of natural and energy resources, preventing environmental risks, and improving management performance in favor of the environment. Meanwhile, the Quality Management System helps manage processes to optimize organizational activities, maintain operational effectiveness, and, according to analyses performed, achieve customer satisfaction.

The audits seek to identify non-compliances, potential deviations, or improvement opportunities. Sofis Solutions will continue working on the continuous improvement of its Integrated Systems.
