Young people share their experience in the Sofis Solutions “My First Job in IT” Program

Montevideo, March 13, 2023.

The “My First Job in IT” Program is an initiative promoted by Sofis Solutions that allows young students in technology-related fields to gain their first work experience. Through this program, young people acquire new skills and professional experience, improving their abilities in creative development, collaborative work, and problem-solving.

For several years, Sofis Solutions has implemented and promoted the “My First Job in IT” Program, a space designed to contribute to the professional and personal growth of young people pursuing technology-related careers who are seeking their first work experience in the IT sector. 

This program promotes the creation of new job opportunities for young people without prior work experience. For three months, participants engage in learning activities within the context of Sofis Solutions’ projects and services, according to their profile. 

Brian Rocha, a first-year Computer Engineering student at the Faculty of Engineering of UDELAR in Uruguay, currently works as a Junior Technician at Sofis Solutions and shares his experience: “I have had a very good work experience at Sofis Solutions, where I have acquired new knowledge and reinforced what I have learned at university. In addition, I have learned a lot from the team, who help me every day to become a better person and professional.”

Another participant, Valentín Albornoz, a second-year Computer Engineering student at the Faculty of Engineering of UDELAR, works as a Junior GeneXus Developer. He says: “Sofis Solutions has given me the opportunity to develop in different areas. One of them is enhancing my creativity, learning to work in a team, and improving my problem-solving skills, which are essential when executing a project. Currently, I work as a Junior GeneXus Developer and during this time I have grown personally and professionally.”

Through this program, Sofis Solutions contributes to inclusive and sustainable economic growth, supporting SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. Young participants gain practical experience applying their theoretical knowledge, enhancing creativity, skills, and competencies through a “learning by doing” methodology. 

This year, Sofis Solutions launched the 2023 call for the “My First Job in IT” Program, which ran from February 20 to March 3, 2023. The company is currently in the process of selecting the young participants for the program.
