Webinar on Sofis Solutions' Anti-Bribery Management System

Montevideo, May 21, 2021.

As part of the dissemination process of Sofis Solutions' Anti-Bribery Management System, the company held the webinar "What is an Anti-Bribery Management System: Objectives and Benefits?" During the event, the organization's stakeholders were shown how they have implemented the ISO 37001:2016 standard and the tools they use to calculate risk priority indices.

Last Wednesday, May 19, Sofis Solutions held the webinar entitled: "What is an Anti-Bribery Management System: Objectives and Benefits?", an event aimed at stakeholders (clients, business partners, and suppliers) to share the value of having such a management system, both for the organization and its interested parties.

The virtual meeting was led by Lic. Laura Viré, Coordinator of Integrated Management Systems, and Dr. Rodrigo Pagliaro, Anti-Bribery Compliance Officer, who discussed the implementation process of the Anti-Bribery Management System, the objectives aligned with its compliance, actions to promote an ethical corporate culture, part of the controls, processes and/or procedures they carry out, and the Anti-Bribery Policy, available on the web portal: https://sofis.lat/politica-antisoborno. All this contributes to detecting, controlling, and reducing the impact of a possible risk or incident related to bribery practices.

According to Lic. Laura Viré: "Sofis Solutions is the first Information Technology company in Latin America to be certified under the ISO 37001:2016 standard, in 2019 by Intertek. This commitment involved investing resources to implement these Management Systems. Moreover, this initiative is part of our organizational commitment to contribute to the United Nations Global Compact and to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which we have been working on for several years."

On the other hand, Dr. Rodrigo Pagliaro highlighted: "… The generic concept handled by ISO 37001:2016, which is implemented within Sofis Solutions' Anti-Bribery Management System, is a broad concept that covers a wide range of behaviors. Bribery is not only the basic scheme we all know, it also involves offering, promising, and soliciting an undue advantage, which can be of any value and financial nature. That is, from a good to a service offered as a trade or even a promise to close some kind of contract."

Through the implementation of the Anti-Bribery Management System, Sofis Solutions maintains and develops measures and activities aimed at identifying and assessing risk, and to prevent, detect, and address bribery in all its forms. This initiative contributes to the Principles of the Global Compact, specifically Principle 10: Companies should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery, and to achieve compliance with the SDGs by 2030.
