Sofis Solutions has a sustainable website according to The Green Web Foundation.

Montevideo, July 23, 2024.

As part of its commitment to sustainability and within the framework of the #GreenSofis initiative, Sofis Solutions has received Green Hosting verification from The Green Web Foundation.

In 2022, Sofis Solutions incorporated the #GreenSofis initiative, a methodology composed of principles, activities, tools, and sustainable practices that cover ESG criteria (environmental, social, and governance factors) throughout the software development lifecycle. Regarding the environmental factor, the company carries out actions related to the reduction and offsetting of greenhouse gas emissions.

One of the actions implemented by Sofis Solutions is reducing its carbon footprint through the hosting and operation of its website, as well as at the design, code, and content levels. To achieve this, it hires services from providers certified by The Green Web Foundation, which verify and approve its site as a green website.

The Green Web Foundation maintains up-to-date and open information on hosting providers that operate on clean energy sources, offering users a transparent way to validate websites.

Energy consumption is the main source of emissions related to website hosting. The Green Web Foundation collects evidence on this from hosting providers or companies that self-host their sites and seek certification.

According to the verification results from The Green Web Foundation, the website https://sofis.lat/ runs on green energy and is hosted sustainably, through the responsible use of resources such as green energy/offsets for its services and alignment with environmentally friendly measures.

Additionally, according to the Carbon Calculator, the Sofis Solutions website produces 0.43 grams of CO2 each time someone visits it. It is considered efficient because it uses compressed images in its design and content, ensuring the website operates in an energy-efficient manner.

The IT industry, together with stakeholders, has made efforts to green digital infrastructure through climate risk management and carbon footprint reduction. This is reflected in eco-friendly data centers that contribute to decarbonizing a country’s economy and help achieve sustainability goals through a combination of technologies, advanced management systems, and the use of renewable energy sources.

Through eco-design of digital infrastructures and the implementation of sustainable best practices, IT organizations can contribute to reducing the digital carbon footprint and energy consumption, thus helping to mitigate climate change.
