History
Sofis Solutions was born in 2005, in the city of Montevideo - Uruguay.
Since its inception, the main driver was and remains quality. This applies to processes, products, and relationships with the environment.The internationalization of the company It was one of the founding objectives. In the first stage, it expanded from Uruguay, and in the second stage, it opened offices in Latin American countries. Currently, it has offices in Montevideo, Panama, El Salvador and Ecuador.

Software quality and sustainability are key factors for excellence in management

Sustainability plays a key role, as incorporating sustainability aspects as a software quality attribute requires a model that considers this dimension throughout its lifecycle.
Quality standards are essential to deliver products and services that meet the expectations and needs of customers. Quality software must fulfill user requirements and include characteristics such as efficiency, security, and scalability throughout the software lifecycle to achieve its intended purpose.
Sustainability plays a key role, as incorporating sustainability aspects as a software quality attribute requires a model that considers this dimension throughout its lifecycle. In this regard, Sofis Solutions designed and integrated into its operational management the #GreenSofis methodology, which defines, applies, and evaluates practices related to sustainable aspects (environmental, social, and governance) both in project management and in the product itself.
The #GreenSofis methodology is based on the ISO 25000 Software Quality standard, also known as SQuaRE (System and Software Quality Requirements and Evaluation), which consists of a set of standards covering the following divisions: Quality Model, Quality Measurement, Quality Requirements, and Quality Evaluation.
Additionally, #GreenSofis incorporates the sustainability dimension, which considers the following elements:
- Green technologies
- Algorithms that optimize resource efficiency
- Green web hosting
- Principles of sustainable software engineering
- Language used in user interfaces
- Digital inclusion aspects
- Development that facilitates auditing and transparency
#GreenSofis has been applied and evolved in various internal processes and products delivered by Sofis Solutions. Its impact is reflected not only in contributing to the improvement of people’s quality of life but also in reducing the carbon footprint, promoting inclusion, web accessibility, gender perspective in software development, and corporate governance practices toward stakeholders.
As part of the activities related to this methodology, Sofis Solutions annually conducts the Sustainable Digital Transformation Days, which serve as a platform to review progress, plan improvements, and evaluate the model. This year, the company announced that the 3rd edition of the event will be held in November.
