History
Sofis Solutions was born in 2005, in the city of Montevideo - Uruguay.
Since its inception, the main driver was and remains quality. This applies to processes, products, and relationships with the environment.The internationalization of the company It was one of the founding objectives. In the first stage, it expanded from Uruguay, and in the second stage, it opened offices in Latin American countries. Currently, it has offices in Montevideo, Panama, El Salvador and Ecuador.

Sofis was certified under the ISO 14001 standard for its Environmental Management System.
After an audit process, Sofis Solutions was certified for its Environmental Management System according to the ISO 14001 standard, which internationally recognizes the implementation of environmental management plans in organizations.
Sofis carries out various sustainability practices under the Green Sofis initiative, aimed at reducing the company’s environmental impact, and these practices were integral to achieving the certification.
The ISO 14001 standard under which Sofis was certified requires organizations to have an environmental management plan that sets environmental goals, policies to achieve them, employee training, and monitoring of progress.
Technology also impacts the environment
Laura Viré, Coordinator of Integrated Management Systems at Sofis, explained that obtaining this certification reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainable practices and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The environmental system involves internal company practices, an environmental policy communicated to stakeholders, as well as risk assessments related to services and operations. It aims to promote “sustainable software design”, she highlighted.
Sustainable development practices are increasingly relevant, and “it is important to bring this topic to the table, especially for technology companies”, she added.
Quality Management System
In addition to the environmental certification, Sofis successfully completed the maintenance audit for the ISO 9001 certification for its Quality Management System in December, with no non-conformities.
This standard certifies compliance with international standards for continuous quality management and control of the company’s processes within its scope (design, development, and maintenance of software products), ensuring high performance of the organization.
