Sofis Solutions Successfully Completed the SDG Ambition Accelerator Program

Montevideo, August 10, 2022.

Sofis Solutions participated for six months in the SDG Ambition accelerator initiative, a program designed by the United Nations Global Compact that guides private sector companies to deepen the integration of the Ten Principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their business strategy, operations, and stakeholder engagement.

In May, Sofis Solutions successfully completed its participation in the SDG Ambition Accelerator Program, which challenges organizations participating in the United Nations Global Compact to set more ambitious corporate targets and accelerate the integration of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to generate substantial impact through business management.

Through the various modules developed during the six months of learning, the company identified priority impact areas. Part of the work involved setting a goal aligned with an SDG Ambition benchmark (Mitigating Corruption and Bribery). In this process, Sofis Solutions created a business case and a roadmap with indicators to track progress on the selected benchmark, and as a final step, developed an integration plan and a narrative to ensure the engagement and support of key stakeholders.

Additionally, during the seven live workshops, participating companies exchanged experiences related to good practices within their respective sectors. Sofis Solutions shared its experience in implementing ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System and how it is working to contribute, from its sector and sphere of influence, to the United Nations Global Compact Ten Principles (Principle 10: Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery) and to SDG 16: Promote peaceful, just, and inclusive societies.

“For Sofis Solutions, the Accelerator provided tools to accelerate the formulation and execution of a plan in the short and medium term, enabling work on the benchmark aligned with SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. The relevance is that these tools are sufficiently generic to be used and contribute across different areas to the achievement of other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” said Laura Viré, Coordinator of Integrated Management Systems at Sofis Solutions.

The program was led by the Local Networks of the Global Compact (Global Compact Guatemala and Global Compact Costa Rica) in partnership with SAP and Accenture, who guided and monitored the participating companies. Participation was conducted via the digital learning platform of the United Nations Global Compact Academy, which provided on-demand sessions and resources covering the three modules of the program: goal setting and prioritization, business cases and metrics, and implementation and presentation.
