Sofis Solutions Presented Its Communication on Progress (CoP) Using the New United Nations Global Compact Format

Montevideo, October 12, 2022.

Sofis Solutions presented its Communication on Progress (CoP) 2021-2022 for the eighth consecutive year. This time, it was done using a new format introduced in January of this year by the United Nations Global Compact, transitioning from a narrative format to a standardized questionnaire available on the CoP digital platform. The platform will be accessible to all signatory companies starting in 2023.

The United Nations Global Compact introduced the “Early Adoption Program,” an initiative that adds value and optimizes the presentation of the Communication on Progress (CoP) submitted by signatory companies. The program implements a digital platform with a standardized questionnaire covering Governance, Human Rights, Labor, Environment, and Anti-Corruption.

As part of the program, a call was made for signatory companies to join the initiative, granting early access to the platform. Additionally, companies had access to resources, content, and live sessions for each section, which served as guidance to use the platform and submit their CoP. Participants also provided feedback and suggestions on the digital platform’s usability, robustness, and operability.

Sofis Solutions participated in the program and submitted its Communication on Progress (CoP) 2021-2022 via the digital platform, responding to 62 questions across the five sections: Governance, Human Rights, Labor, Environment, and Anti-Corruption. Questions were categorized into commitment, prevention, and action. This format allows assessment of companies’ annual performance, including remediation mechanisms and reporting processes for addressing complaints and lessons learned.

Through the questionnaire, the company shared information regarding its processes and policies (Quality, Environmental, Anti-Bribery, Gender, and Privacy) demonstrating its commitment to sustainability progress and contribution to the Ten Principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Additionally, Sofis Solutions shared efforts to prevent negative environmental impacts, working internally and externally to contribute good practices for environmental care. Related projects include: DIREPRO Tumbes Digital – developed with financial support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Peru, General Directorate of Civil Registry of Uruguay, and the Bovine Information System mobile application in Ecuador – SIFAE, executed by UNDP in Ecuador.

For 2022, the company has also formed committees focused on developing action plans to address Environment, Labor, and Anti-Corruption topics. These working groups align with Sofis Solutions’ objectives and are supported by the company’s management, which provides resources and tools to implement approved actions and track results within the established timeframe.
