Cooperation agreement signing between Sofis Solutions El Salvador and the Polytechnic University of El Salvador

Montevideo, April 28, 2023. 

Sofis Solutions El Salvador and the Polytechnic University of El Salvador (UPES) signed a cooperation agreement to carry out joint activities aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the educational community, collaborators, and stakeholders, related to the work of both institutions. 

Sofis Solutions El Salvador signed an inter-institutional cooperation agreement with the Polytechnic University of El Salvador, with the goal of contributing to and supporting areas of Innovation, Information Technologies, and Sustainable Development Practices. Through this, the company will share its expertise and knowledge with the educational community, university collaborators, and stakeholders. Additionally, it foresees the development of joint research projects and activities in areas of interest to both institutions.

The agreement was signed by Eng. Alirio Mauricio Bernal Guardado, Rector of the Polytechnic University of El Salvador, and Eng. Gustavo Cirigliano, Director of Sofis Solutions. The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration to carry out various joint activities, such as: research activities on related topics, lectures on innovation, Information Technology, and Sustainable Development linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda, internship programs for university students, project formulation and execution, and development of academic or recreational activities in areas of expertise. 

In this context, on April 21, the Webinar “Innovation as a Key Instrument for Achieving the SDGs” was held, led by Mtr. Cristian Portillo, Specialist in Digital Transformation Strategies and General Manager of Sofis Solutions El Salvador. Through the virtual event, participants learned about the global importance of the SDGs and how innovation and ICT are key elements to achieve them.

During the webinar, Eng. Roberto Argueta Quan, General Vice-Rector of the Polytechnic University, thanked Sofis Solutions for the initiative to present topics related to Digital Transformation, innovation, creativity, and Sustainable Development. “(...) This is the beginning of the relationship between the Polytechnic University of El Salvador and Sofis Solutions El Salvador, through which we have formalized an agreement to carry out joint activities around creativity, innovation, and support for the SDGs.”
