CAROSAI, Auditing and Digital Transformation 

In May 2025, Sofis Solutions participated in the XIII CAROSAI Congress in the Bahamas, a key event for strengthening public auditing in the Caribbean. The presentation on digital transformation in Supreme Audit Institutions allowed the company to highlight best practices, emerging technologies, and international experiences in digital transformation. 

1. The CAROSAI Organization 

The Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (CAROSAI) is a regional network established in 1988 that brings together the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of the Caribbean. With 23 member countries from various linguistic traditions, CAROSAI is part of the INTOSAI (International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions) ecosystem and aims to strengthen accountability, transparency, and efficiency in the public sector through technical cooperation, experience sharing, and continuous training. 

CAROSAI promotes the harmonization of auditing processes, the development of institutional capacities, and the technological modernization of its members. In this context, its congresses serve as key spaces to advance regional and global agendas on auditing, integrity, and public financial management. 

2. The XIII CAROSAI Congress (Bahamas, 2025) 

From May 18 to 23, 2025, the XIII CAROSAI Congress was held in Nassau, Bahamas, under the theme "Innovative Approach to Auditing Excellence". The event coincided with the centenary of the Office of the Auditor General of the Bahamas and brought together representatives of Caribbean SAIs, international experts, and multilateral organizations. 

The congress addressed topics such as data-driven auditing, artificial intelligence, environmental auditing, ethics in the use of technologies, and strategies to increase the impact of audits on public management. 

The congress also reinforced CAROSAI as a space for technical innovation, where international cases of digital transformation in auditing were discussed, including examples from Estonia, Italy, Peru, and China. 

3. Sofis Solutions' Participation: Digital Transformation of SAIs 

Representing Sofis Solutions, Eric Ramírez presented the talk titled "Digital Transformation of Supreme Auditing Institutions", a comprehensive presentation on how SAIs can lead digital transformation processes to maximize their impact. 

The presentation was structured around five key areas: 

1. Public value and digital transformation: highlighting the need to align legitimacy, operational capacity, and social impact, following Moore's Strategic Triangle. 
2. Benefits and risks: showing how digitalization improves audit quality, coverage, and transparency, while also posing risks such as losing a risk-based approach, capacity gaps, or data overload. 
3. Enabling technologies: demonstrating the use of RPA, semantic search, NLP, and Big Data to expand audit scope, automate processes, and enhance data analysis. 
4. Ethical challenges and AI use: proposing the responsible use of artificial intelligence as a support tool for decision-making, not as a substitute for professional judgment. 
5. Digital capabilities and success stories: encouraging SAIs to invest in digital skills through continuous training, with concrete examples such as Estonia (e-government auditing), Peru (INFOBRAS), Italy (SMART project), and China (big data auditing). 

The participation of Sofis Solutions in this event reflected its commitment to improving public institutions through digital innovation and institutional integrity. The experience shared contributed to the company's evolving role as a player in the digital transformation of the public sector, participating in events that promote technical dialogue in the region.
