Increasingly, companies in the retail sector are integrating technology into their operations to automate processes and improve the shopping experience for their consumers.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes an ally that helps companies enhance their performance and productivity by automating processes or tasks that require human effort. Through its suite of technologies, AI can analyze data, generate predictions and forecasts, categorize objectives, among other capabilities.
Sofis Solutions, through its SofisIA tool, integrated Artificial Intelligence into a food product marketing project for a supermarket chain, creating an AI algorithm that arranges a set of products on a shelf to maximize revenue, considering product characteristics such as size, price, cost, sales, and more.
The project's challenge was to define planograms by product family, maximizing variables pre-defined by the business to improve profitability and user usability.
As a result of the project, three views were obtained: the first of planograms by sub-families, the second of product planograms, and the third a PDF report for use by staff replenishing the shelves with products.
For Santiago Atella, director of Sofis Solutions, this project meant: “An ambitious project where selecting the best Artificial Intelligence model to achieve the project’s objective was a challenge. After data preparation and model selection, it was configured and ‘trained’ to obtain the best possible results.”
