The WorkerLab platform facilitates the coordination and strengthening of the community of independent and informal workers in El Salvador through a digital solution focused on the gig economy. Developed by Sofis Solutions as part of the WorkerTech Project promoted by CASATIC and co-financed by IDB Lab and the European Union, the platform enables:
- Centralize strategic information and data on the dynamics of independent work in the country.
- Connect key stakeholders, bringing together supply and demand among workers, private-sector companies, public institutions, and cooperation organizations.
The system's development follows public technology standards focused on digital inclusion and data governance:
- Management and visualization of indicators to support decision-making and the design of evidence-based public policies.
- Multi-stakeholder integration, ensuring interoperability among training services, social protection, and employment opportunities within the gig economy ecosystem.
