Sofis Solutions Central America joins the celebration of the “World Telecommunication and Information Society Day,” also known as “Internet Day,” which is celebrated every May 17 as declared by the United Nations General Assembly. The goal of this day is to raise awareness about the use of the internet and other information and communication technologies (ICT), as well as to promote the need to reduce the digital divide.
This year, Sofis Solutions Central America participated in the eleventh edition of Internet Day in El Salvador, organized by Conexión, SVNET, and a multisectoral steering committee. The theme of the event was “Freedom of Expression,” which aimed to promote respectful freedom of expression through the internet. The event took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and brought together students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and the general public.
"The purpose of celebrating this day in El Salvador is to reflect on the meaning of the internet in our societies and daily lives—not only from a technological standpoint, but also considering the social, political, cultural, and educational effects it brings, and above all, to promote respect among users,” said Engineer Rafael Ibarra, recognized as the father of the internet in El Salvador.
In addition to being agents of digital transformation and a software company focused on delivering solutions through the most appropriate technologies, Sofis Solutions used this opportunity to showcase its portfolio of services to the Salvadoran and Central American markets. These include IT projects, IT services, and training programs for both the public and private sectors.
