On November 19, a presentation on the Reengineering of Flexible Education Modalities was held by the Ministry of Education of El Salvador (MINED), organized by the Education for Children and Youth Project, USAID El Salvador, and the Foundation for Comprehensive Salvadoran Education (FEDISAL). The presentation took place at the Fair and Convention Center (CIFCO).
During the event, the Comprehensive Operational Management System (SIGO) was presented, an integrated management software system for Flexible Modality and Technical Training, including its regulations and based on three central axes: Academic, Didactic, and Financial, for the Education for Children and Youth Project.
This system is developed by the consultancy Sofis Solutions within the framework of the USAID project "Education for Children and Youth" (ECYP) led by FEDISAL, and aims to improve educational opportunities for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children and youth who study the third cycle or high school and who are outside the educational system and also live in municipalities with high violence rates and their surroundings, with the expansion (adjustment) of the ECYP implementation coverage to the Second Cycle of Basic Education (in the targeted PESS schools) specifically to 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, while continuing to operate in the Third Cycle.
According to Lic. Héctor Quiteño, Executive Director of FEDISAL: "A software is being designed, developed, and tested that will be interconnected with the general information platform that the Ministry of Education is implementing, called SIGES. This will allow the National Directorate of Education for Youth and Adults to manage all information in real time about teachers, students, and implementers."
Through this system, the National Directorate of Education for Youth and Adults (DNEJA) will be able to access information related to the development of Flexible Modalities, didactic material for preparing evaluations, among other functionalities.
