The Sustainable Digital Transformation Workshops offer opportunities to move toward a more responsible, conscious, ethical, and balanced digital transformation—aligned with the sustainability principles that guide the work of Sofis Solutions.
As part of strengthening its commitment to sustainability, Sofis Solutions announces the launch of a new edition of the Sustainable Digital Transformation Workshops. This edition will focus on one of the company's main initiatives: the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the sustainability dimensions.
The Sustainable Digital Transformation Workshops are gatherings where employees, senior management, and guest speakers share responsible IT practices and reflect on the daily challenges of a world in constant technological change. Each edition addresses topics related to ESG criteria (Environmental, Social, and Governance), focused on software production processes, in order to advance toward a more responsible, conscious, ethical, and balanced digital transformation—aligned with the sustainability principles guiding Sofis Solutions' work.
In 2022, the company held the first edition of these Workshops, where trends and practices were explored, including: Green Project Management, Sustainable Software Engineering, Green IT, Green Web Design, Green Big Data, and Green BPM. To close the sessions, senior management presented the #GreenSofis initiative, which aims to define and develop best practices, methodologies, tools, and recommendations for integrating sustainability aspects into the software development process.
This initiative is divided into three sustainability components:
- Environmental Component: focused on activities and proposals linked to environmental matters such as reducing and compensating greenhouse gas emissions.
- Social Component: includes health, diversity, equity and inclusion, employability skills, and community enhancement.
- Governance Component: aims to strengthen transparency, integration of rights and responsibilities at all organizational levels, and decision-making with sustainability considerations.
The second edition of the Workshops concentrated on activities under the #GreenSofis initiative, featuring two presentation sessions and one ideation session. Topics included project management, software development lifecycle, web design, Artificial Intelligence, DevOps, and institutional practices.
The third edition will be held virtually on November 13 and 14, showcasing how the company is advancing work on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)–aligned projects, Sustainable Software Engineering, and organizational sustainability initiatives. Senior management aims to foster collaboration and innovation through these Workshops.
Key outcomes from the Workshops include implementing actions that support sustainability across Sofis Solutions’ operations and activities. Among the Sustainable Software Engineering initiatives introduced are: sustainability-focused project management, ESG-driven requirements analysis and specification, architecture and design with Green IT considerations, security-informed with sustainability, and sustainable coding practices.
