Elections of delegates to the National Teachers' Assemblies of the National Public Education Administration (ANEP)

Montevideo, November 9, 2018.

Today, elections were held for delegates to the National Teachers' Assemblies of the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP). This electoral process, overseen by the Electoral Court in Uruguay, took place in the department of Montevideo using a computer system that included voter registry management at each polling station with an application installed on tablets specifically prepared for this purpose, and an application that centralized vote counting from the polling stations to obtain the provisional departmental tally.

The development of the computer system was carried out by Sofis Solutions. It was based on previous experiences such as the system for university elections in 2011, the elections of authorities of the Pension and Retirement Fund for University Professionals, and the elections of Obras Sanitarias del Estado (OSE), replacing the "ceibalitas" with tablets at the polling stations.

In these elections, 14,390 people participated in the department of Montevideo, distributed across 54 polling stations. The provisional tally for the department of Montevideo was completed in approximately 3 hours after the polls closed.
